The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced plans to plant 30,000 saplings across several provinces in Afghanistan.
The agency said on Sunday, November 1, that the initiative would be implemented as part of the second phase of its Economic Recovery Programme.
UNDP added that the project would help create job opportunities, support the livelihoods of local communities and restore Afghanistan’s environment.
The second phase of the Economic Recovery Programme focuses on emergency assistance, job creation and the development of critical infrastructure for vulnerable people.
