The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said that girls’ education brings hope and opportunities.

In a post on X on Thursday, July 16, OCHA said that investing in girls’ education is an investment in Afghanistan’s future.

The UN agency shared the concerns of a mother in Bamyan regarding her daughter’s education.

The Bamyan woman said she fears that her daughter will have no future because of being deprived of education.

This comes as, since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, women and girls have been deprived of education, employment, and the ability to travel without a male guardian.
