The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) says that investing in and supporting young people will help build a stronger future for Afghanistan.

The organization wrote on its X page on Sunday, July 12, 2026, that supporting adolescents and young people in Afghanistan through health services and educational opportunities helps their development.

The United Nations added that providing health services, life skills education, and creating opportunities for young people will pave the way for a healthy and productive life for them.

The organization emphasized that young people can play an effective role in their communities when they have access to suitable opportunities.

This comes as many young people, particularly girls in Afghanistan, are facing uncertainty and an unclear future.

Educational restrictions, a lack of employment opportunities, poverty, and declining academic opportunities are among the major challenges affecting the lives of many young people in the country.
