A ceremony marking Uzbek National Language Day was held in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

The ceremony took place on Saturday, October 17, at the initiative of the political and social movement Birlik Yuli (Path of Unity).

The event was attended by a number of politicians, cultural and social activists, university professors, former military personnel, and representatives of human rights organizations.

Speakers discussed the importance of the Turkish-Uzbek language, literature, and culture, the role of historical figures in the development of culture and civilization, and the challenges facing the Uzbek language and culture over the past two centuries.

Several political, cultural, and academic figures, including Professor Bismillah Turdiqal Maimangi and Dr. Dawood Ali Najafi, a former transport minister, also emphasized the importance of preserving linguistic and cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.

Other parts of the ceremony included the introduction of the memoir Born in the Heart of Fire by Professor Khal Mohammad Shuja, performances of traditional music, poetry recitations, and an exhibition of calligraphy featuring works by Professor Abdul Hakim Karimzada.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Birlik Yuli movement honored Professor Turdiqal Maimangi, engineer Mohammad Saleh Akbari, and Professor Nawroz Ali Hamidi with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their more than half a century of academic work and activism.
