JD Vance has said that the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran “will not be permanent” and that Washington will eventually bring it under control.
Vance made the remarks on Tuesday, May 19, during a press briefing at the White House in Washington, D.C.
According to Vance, the US administration is working to manage the confrontation with Iran while also trying to prevent further escalation of tensions.
“This is not a forever war. We do our job and then go home,” he said.
The briefing also referred to rising energy prices and the broader economic impact of the US–Iran conflict on global energy markets.
The comments come amid reports that tensions between Iran and the United States have been ongoing since February 28, with significant consequences for global energy markets.
