Afghanistan is one of the countries where many of its people consider themselves victims of foreign conspiracies. They think that the great powers since the time of Peter the Great in Russia and Queen Victoria in Britain have spent all their time plotting to dominate this land and have never tired of it.
According to them, the main issue of the half-century cold war of the two superpowers was how to conquer Afghanistan and bring it down, and in the 21st century, the new powers that appear in the region and the world will continue to make efforts in this way.
Conspiracy is part of the common methods in the world of politics. There is no doubt, and this is not just now, but it has a history of several thousand years. For all governments, achieving their interests is a priority and they do everything possible for these interests, except for failed and ineffective governments that do not have defined interests or their national interests have been reduced to the interests of a specific individual or group. Where the interests of countries intersect and overlap, wise governments seek to find ways to cooperate, and where their interests conflict, they conspire for the other side, so that each of them is stronger and more skilled, the conspiracy is more effective. Stronger here, of course, does not mean fighting ability; Rather, it includes industrial, scientific, and cultural abilities along with institutions that provide the basis for a wide participation of forces.
On the other hand, it is true that conspiracy is a part of the mechanism of politics, but the world does not always revolve on the basis of conspiracy, especially that against the conspiracy of one side, there is also the conspiracy of other parties, which limits and sometimes neutralizes its effectiveness. What makes the conspiracy effective is the weakness and vulnerability of the other party. This is, of course, if there is an underlying conspiracy. Sometimes there is no conspiracy anymore, but the illusion of a conspiracy that leads ignorant nations to misery; Because they think that everything that happens outside their borders is a conspiracy against them, and because they base all their calculations on such an illusion, they do not find anything but futility and damage.
In Afghanistan, the reforms of Amanullah Khan, the activity of left parties, the coming to power of the Mujahideen, the 20 years of the republican period and many other small and large changes were considered part of a larger conspiracy on the other side of the borders, rather than blaming foreigners. There was no one to ask why South Korea, Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore, Qatar, Brazil, and many other countries took big steps forward in the same period of time, while they were facing stronger competitors and we were basically no one’s competitor until the need to All this round-the-clock planning is on the scale of one century and two centuries. It is easiest to put all the blame on the shoulders of foreigners and their conspiracies and assume oneself to be innocent and a victim. But it is the most useless and even the most harmful solution. The way out of the historical helplessness is to take responsibility, find the internal factors of the crisis and act to fundamentally change the situation, which is possible with rationality.
