The residents of Paktika marched in Nika district to ask for the immediate reopening of girls’ schools.
Local sources in Paktika say on Wednesday (October 19th) that a number of residents of Nika district have demanded the immediate reopening of school doors to female students.
Dozens of religious scholars, elders and youths of Nika District participated in this gathering. They have considered the closing of the education doors to girls a violation of women’s rights.
Protesters have said that there is no religious or cultural justification for closing the gates of girls’ schools.
This protest takes place while three days ago Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban, said at a meeting of religious scholars in Turkey that the reopening of school doors to girl in Afghanistan is certain.
