The organization “Polio Free Afghanistan” has announced the launch of a polio vaccination campaign in the provinces of Faryab and Badghis.

The organization said the campaign will take place on Monday, March 2.

According to Polio Free Afghanistan, the campaign will be conducted in Bala Murghab and Ghormach districts of Badghis, as well as in Pashtun Kot, Qaisar, Almar, Maymana, Shirin Tagab, and Dawlatabad districts of Faryab.

The organization has not specified how many children will be vaccinated during this campaign.

Despite efforts by international organizations, polio has not yet been eradicated from Afghanistan.

According to the World Health Organization, two positive polio cases were recorded in 2025 in the provinces of Badghis and Helmand.
