The Kremlin’s press office stated that President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call to discuss the negative consequences of the conflict in the Middle East, particularly in the areas of energy, trade, and logistics.
The office said in a statement on Friday, April 3, that both sides emphasized the alignment of their views on the need to establish a ceasefire as soon as possible and to develop peace arrangements that take into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region.
Putin and Erdoğan also warned that the continued escalation of tensions could have wide-ranging regional and global consequences and could affect energy supplies and international trade.
Recent clashes in the Middle East, particularly in the Persian Gulf region, have intensified following airstrikes by the United States and Israel on targets in Iran, leading to heightened tensions in regional and global relations.
