Taliban Collect 600 AFG as Tax for Each Kilogram of Opium Smuggled Through Nimruz
The Taliban are collecting 600 AFG as tax for every KG of opium smuggled through Nimruz border, Afghanistan.
Adding that the price of opium has also increased in domestic markets, sources told Hasht-e Subh on Saturday that drug trafficking under the Taliban administration is carried out legally.
Sources detailed today, one kilogram of opium was exchanged for 20,500,000 Iranian tomans, equivalent to nearly 44,000 AFG ($490) in western parts of Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that the price of one kilogram of opium in Nimruz province was less than 10 million tomans before August 15, 2021, but after an order issued Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, prohibiting drug trafficking, the price of opium in domestic markets has been on the rise on a daily basis.
