The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice has announced that it has seized nearly 600 jeribs, equivalent to about 297 acres, of land in Balkh province.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday, September 27, that the land belonged to the “Khatam al-Anbia Project” and is located in Qala-e Qul Mohammad area of District 12 of Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice added that documents related to the land had been reviewed by the “Special Court for Addressing Cases of Usurped State-Owned Lands in the Northern Zone.”
After returning to power, the Taliban began reviewing and reclaiming a number of lands and townships. The group claims that some of these properties belong to the “Islamic Emirate.”
