The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has sent its political and human rights teams to Panjshir Province to investigate gross violations of human rights.
UNAMA tweeted on Tuesday (October 4th) that these teams will meet with local Taliban officials in Panjshir.
These delegations share the serious concern of the United Nations regarding the gross violation of human rights in Panjshir with the local officials of the Taliban.
UNAMA emphasized that accountability and protecting the rights of all Afghans is key to peace.
Not long ago, following the revelation of the killing of civilians by the Taliban in Panjshir, UNAMA spoke about obtaining evidence of gross human rights violations.
