WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that more than 68,000 people have received primary healthcare services at WHO-supported health centres in Nangarhar and Laghman, with financial support from the Italian government.

The organisation said on Monday, October 19, that the recipients included more than 31,000 women, over 20,000 children and more than 20,000 returnees.

According to the WHO, these centres provide services including outpatient care, maternal and child health, nutrition, vaccination, medicines, emergency ambulance services, and psychosocial support.

The organisation added that support from the Italian government helps provide healthcare services to people in eastern Afghanistan.
