Two Taliban fighters have been killed by unidentified gunmen in two separate incidents in Kapisa.
In the first incident, the driver of the chief of the Taliban’s appeals prosecutor’s office was killed and his wife was wounded after being shot by unknown gunmen.
The incident took place on Tuesday in the village of Rig-e Rawan vicinity of the 2nd district of Kohistan.
In the second incident, a Taliban fighter was killed and another one was injured at noon on Wednesday, December 28, by unidentified armed men in Murad Khaja bridge area, 2nd district of Kohistan.
Local Taliban authorities in Kapisa have denied the occurrence of today’s incident, saying that the person killed had affiliation with the National Resistance Front (NRF)
According to the Taliban, another NRF member has been arrested by the Taliban. NRF and Freedom Front are two prominent anti-Taliban armed groups that operate in Kapisa province.
