Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, has reported significant progress in talks with Iranian officials during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Tasnim reported on Tuesday, August 25, that Pakistan’s interior minister traveled to Tehran alongside Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir.
According to the report, Pakistan’s interior minister said Islamabad is in talks to reactivate the “Islamabad Memorandum” to resolve disputes.
Naqvi added that the talks with Iran are focused on tensions in the West Asia region and finding ways to open a path toward peace.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani military said Asim Munir’s one-day visit to Tehran was part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to end the deadlock in US-Iran negotiations and explore ways to achieve lasting peace and a permanent end to instability in the region.
