Following the gross violation of human rights by the Taliban in the recent clashes in Panjshir, some women in Kapisa province also launched a symbolic protest indoors, condemning the situation and asking the war parties to put an end to the unjustified killings.
Protesting women on Saturday (September 17th) chanted the slogans “Join Panjshir”, “Stop the Genocide in Panjshir” and “End the oppression of civilians in Panjshir”, demanding an end to human rights violations in Panjshir.
For a week, fierce clashes have taken place between the Taliban and the National Resistance Front (NRF) in Panjshir province.
During these clashes, Taliban fighters unlawfully shot dead more than 70 NRF prisoners while their hands were tied, reports indicate.
This action of the Taliban has led to the public outcry of organizations active in the field of human rights.
Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission have described the shooting of prisoners of war by the Taliban as a “war crime” and have asked the United Nations to intervene as soon as possible and prevent the repetition of such actions by the Taliban.
